I Chose The First Statement :
1.) To decrease the risk of cervical cancer, teenage girls should be required to get the HPV Vaccine.

Studies have shown that HPV leads to cervical cancer. To Prevent And Reduce The Rick Of Contracting Cervical Cancer The HPV Vaccine Was Developed. In An Attempt To Lower The Risk Of Developing Cervical Cancer , Teenage Girls Should Take The Vaccine However They Should Not Be Required To Take It. Like Most Vaccines , There Are Side Affects That May Be Life Threatening. Although These Symptoms Are Rare , Recent Studies Have Shown That There Are Serious Side Effects. For This Fact, One Must Have The Right To Choose Whether Or Not To Take The Vaccine. However, I Can Vouch For This Vaccine As A Recipient Of This Vaccine. I Felt No Side Affects What So Ever After I Received The Series Of Shot. I'm Aware That My Experience Is Only One Minor Experience In Comparison To Other Girls . However My Experience Adds On To Those Of Other Girls Who Felt No Major Difference One She Received The Vaccine.

In This Times Magazine Article, The Author Speaks About A Recent Law That Passed In Arizona That Prohibits Ethnic Study Programs With In Public School . Supporters Of This Law State That The Ethnic Studies Programs Teaches Minority Students That They Are Oppressed By White People. However, This Law Is Just Ignoring The Truth And Promotes Ignorance. It Is Fact That Through Out The History Of America , The White Race Has Oppressed Races Like African Americans . Also People Should Have The Right To Learn About Their Own Culture . No One Should Have The Authority To Say That You Can Not Learn About Your Culture . This Law Is In Fact Is A Contradiction To The Purpose Of This Law Because It Is Oppressing Minorities From Learning About Their Own Culture.

Supporters Of This Law State That The Goal Of This Legislation Is To Prohibit Schools From Informing Minority Students That They Are Oppressed By White People . However, This Is In Fact True ; White People Have Oppressed Minorities And This Can Be Seen Through Out History . The First Group Of Minorities Which They Oppressed Was The Indians. White People Stole Their Lands By Any Means And Then Later Forced Them Off Their Land And Sent Them To Live In A Part Of The United States Which They Deemed Inhabitable. This In History Is Known As The Trail Of Tears. White People Had Stunted The Success Of The Native American People By Taking Their Land And Forcing Them To Assimilate. Another Group That Was Oppressed By White People Are African Americans. After Slavery Was Banned, They Passed Laws That Made It Difficult For Them To Vote . They Had Oppressed The Blacks In Having A Say In What Goes On In The Country . Also They Had Segregated School In Which Whites More Then Often Received A Better Education. This Law Is Basically Trying To Erase The Fact That The White Culture Has Oppressed Many People. In Fact, This Law Is Just Oppressing Minority Groups Like Latinos. It's Inhibitor Them From Learning About Their Own Culture

Image One - Golden Gate Bridge
One Obvious Similarity Between These Two Images Is That They Are Both Bridges. They Are Both Also Above Water. The Structure Of The Bridges Are Also Similar . The Golden Gate Bridge And The Brooklyn Bridge Both Have A Some What U-Shape Structure And Have A Cris Cross Type Pattern At The Bottom . However , The Scenery Is Where The Differences Are Most Visible. The Golden Gate Bridge Is Surrounded By Rocks And Fog. The Brooklyn Bridge Is Surrounded By Sky Scrapers. Another Difference Between The Two Is That The Destination Of Image Two Is Fairly Obvious (The Destination Being The City) . The Destination Of Image One Is Ambiguous . Also , One Image Is In Color While The Other Is In Black And White.

I Would Use Subject By Subject Organization To Analyze The Photos . I would Use This Method Because I Find It Easier Then Picking Out One Point At A Time. I Think It Takes Less Time But Is Still Effective .

Liberal: Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the tideas and behaviors of others; broad minded.

Conservative: Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change.

The topic of the quote that I found both on Cnn.com and Foxnews.com deals with the new proposed health care reform for the United States. I found that CNN seemed to have a liberal point of view on this subject.
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/11/19/health.care.bill/index.html. The sixth paragraph is a quote from President Barack Obama stating that " 'From day one, our goal has been to enact legislation that offers stablity and security to those that have insurance and affordable coverage for those who don't, and that lowers cost for families, businesses and governments accross the country'. Obama said in a statement, adding that the Senate proposal "meets those principles.' " In my opinion this is a liberalistic quote from the CNN article. CNN included all of the quote from Obama which promotes the new Health Care Reform meaning they are open for change.

When I entered Foxnews and searched for an article dealing with the Health Reform debate, they seemed very conservative.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/19/senate-health-price-tag-rosy-deficit-estimate-assailed-fantasy/ . Right away I could tell that this was going to be a convervative opinionated article. They articulated that the new health care reform bill was a "fantasy". The health care reform bill is just what its called; a change in Americas health care. By calling the bill a fantasy, it illustrates the oposition to change.

I consider my self to a Liberal. In my opoinion, a liberal is someone who is open to change and respects the way other people choose to live their lives. For examples, the recent Gay marriage debate here in California, I found my self wanting to vote no on prop 8, even though Im not old enough to vote. I believe that people should be able to marry who ever they want to marry. Who is to say that someone can not marry the person they love? Also,in the recent Presidential elections, I favored Obama over McCain to become our new president. I agree with much of Obamas views, which most of deal with change. His campaign was centered around the fact that he would bring change to America, which is something that was greatly needed due to the last presidency.

In the short story "The Lottery" by Shirly Jackson, the authors intention is to show the readers that life may not always turn out as we expect or perceive it. Many people such as children, believe that the world is a friendly place. However, the occurrence of a tragic event can break down the wall of a naive and innocent person. This is evident in the short story "Flowers" by Alice Walker. In the story, the main character was enjoying her summer until she stumbled upon a human skeleton. It was evident to the young girl that the once living person had been lynched from the above tree. This event greatly impacted her because it opened her eyes to the real world. In the real world, the loss of innocence can be seen everywhere, such as in the Middle East. Many of the children who live in the war zone countries may have never had the experience of hearing bombs going off, people being killed, and houses being raided. If Jackson had written this narrative as an expository piece, it would not have the same effect as a fictional piece of work. Having written this as a fictional piece of work, readers can connect and understand her point more personally .

My Little Cousin Is Not A Normal Kid, Shes A Chipmunk, A Chipmunk Who's Chugged An Energy Drink In Five Seconds. She Runs Up To Me Every Time She Sees Me Attempting To Climb On Me, Just As A Chipmunk Does When It Sees A Tree Full Of Acorns. She Can Talk For Days In Her High Pitched Voice. I Swear She Could Be One Of Those Cartoon Chipmunks That You Watch On Saturday Morning. At Times I Even Think That She's Sucked The Helium Out Of A Balloon. She Grabs Food And Saves IT. She Wont Eat It Until Shes Really Hungry And When Shes Running Low On Energy. As Soon As She Starts Running Empty, She Goes Off To Her Stash And What Do You Know, Shes Scurrying Around The House. Dont Get Me Wrong, I Love That Little Girl More Than Anyone Can Imagine. She's Not Just Any Chipmunk, Shes My Chipmunk And Even Though It Hurts To Get Climbed On By A Four Year Old, I Wouldn't Change Her For Any Other Normal Kid.
